02

AREA

Three kinds of work we can own.

Every engagement starts from one question: what can you hand to Baytek? The answer usually falls into one of three areas.

01 / DELIVERY

Enterprise application delivery

Production work that goes directly into the systems and products your organization depends on.

  • New product & feature development
  • Application modernization & legacy refactoring
  • Performance & database optimization
  • API development & integration
  • Web & mobile applications
  • Cloud migration
  • Test automation & production support
02 / INNOVATION

Innovation & strategic initiatives

Fast-moving ideas shouldn't have to wait for a core product team to free up. Can we turn the idea into something people can actually use?

  • AI proofs-of-concept
  • Intelligent assistants & conversational apps
  • Executive & client demos
  • Mobile experiences
  • Pilot programs
  • Conference, event & seasonal apps
  • Data visualization & rapid prototypes
03 / OPERATIONS

Operational excellence & automation

Software that makes the organization itself work better. Some of the highest-value software never becomes a commercial product — it simply removes friction.

  • AI-assisted workflows & automation
  • Document processing
  • Knowledge tools
  • Internal portals & approval systems
  • Reporting dashboards & analytics
  • Data integration & resource tracking

IN PRACTICE / LEGAL

Baytek has been migrating on-premises systems to Azure for large US law firms — engagements where the hard parts are the security review, privileged and confidential data, and cutover without downtime.

03

HOW

How an engagement works.

The paperwork, the people, and the paper trail — in the order your procurement team will ask about them.

01

One master agreement. A statement of work per project.

Drafted with your technical team, starting from your paper or ours. Baytek is an insured California corporation — coverage summary and certificates on the procurement page.

AGREE
02

A named team, screened with ResReader.

Our own AI recruiting product winnows the candidates. You interview and approve every engineer before work starts.

ASSEMBLE
03

Weekly timesheets, approved by your manager.

Each engineer logs hours with a description of the work completed. Your manager reviews and approves — you see where every hour went.

TRACK
04

A monthly invoice your finance team can trace.

One invoice per month, with a description of the work completed — backed by the approved timesheets, not a lump sum.

04

AI

AI where it creates value. Engineering where it has to last.

AI becomes useful when it connects to real systems, real data, and real workflows. Baytek combines AI experimentation with the engineering required to move successful ideas beyond the demo.

01 / KNOWLEDGE

AI-assisted knowledge & search

Connect people to relevant organizational information through intelligent search and conversational experiences.

02 / DOCUMENTS

Document intelligence

Extract, classify, summarize, compare, and route information within governed workflows.

03 / WORKFLOW

Intelligent workflow automation

Assist repetitive knowledge work and decision-making while preserving human review where it matters.

04 / CONVERSATION

Conversational experiences

Integrate intelligent assistants and chat interfaces into web, mobile, and enterprise applications.

05 / ANALYTICS

AI analytics

Measure adoption, usage, outcomes, and effectiveness of AI initiatives.

06 / PROTOTYPING

Rapid AI prototyping

Move quickly from an idea to something stakeholders can actually experience and evaluate.

05

CLOUD

Built for the environment you already have.

We don't push you toward a platform because it's the one we prefer. Baytek builds in the environment your organization already runs — and has shipped production systems in all three.

01 / AZURE

Microsoft Azure

Enterprise applications, Azure DevOps, application modernization, cloud migration, analytics, APIs, and AI-enabled systems.

02 / AWS

Amazon Web Services

Cloud applications, APIs, serverless systems, integrations, data services, and scalable backend infrastructure.

03 / FIREBASE

Google Firebase

Real-time applications, mobile backends, authentication, serverless functions, notifications, and rapidly scalable application infrastructure.

06

MOBILE

Web when it belongs on the web. Mobile when it belongs in someone's hand.

Baytek has substantial experience delivering mobile applications alongside web and cloud systems — included where the use case calls for it, not sold as a separate silo.

IOS · ANDROID · CROSS-PLATFORM · CLOUD-CONNECTED MOBILE APPLICATIONS

07

09

OWN

What can Baytek own for you?

Examples of work that can be handed over with clear accountability — recognizable projects, not abstract capabilities.

01 / MODERNIZE

Modernize a legacy application

Assess, refactor, optimize, migrate, integrate, test, and support an existing application — on Azure, AWS, or the environment that fits.

02 / EXTEND

Add a product capability

Take a defined feature or workstream from architecture and development through testing and production delivery.

03 / PROVE

Build an AI proof-of-concept

Turn a business idea into working software stakeholders can evaluate before committing to a larger production investment.

04 / TOOLING

Create an internal productivity tool

Replace spreadsheets, email chains, repetitive processes, and manual handoffs with purpose-built software.

05 / MOBILE

Build a mobile experience

Deliver iOS and Android functionality as part of a broader enterprise or customer-facing system.

06 / DEMO

Prepare an executive or client demo

A polished working experience for a strategic meeting, conference, client presentation, or pilot.

07 / OPTIMIZE

Optimize an existing system

Improve application performance, database design, indexes, queries, APIs, architecture, or infrastructure — without a complete rewrite.

08 / AUTOMATE

Automate testing & delivery

Improve quality and repeatability through test automation, CI/CD, quality reporting, and engineering tooling.

10

ENGAGE

Three ways to engage.

The engagement adapts to the work — not the other way around.

01 / EMBEDDED

Embedded

Experienced engineers, QA specialists, business analysts, or technical leadership working inside your existing team — your process, your tooling, your cadence.

Best when your team is shaped right but under-resourced, and you need capacity that doesn't add a coordination layer.

How it works →
02 / TEAM

Dedicated team

A self-contained Baytek team owns a defined workstream and delivers within your delivery process at sprint cadence.

Best when a workstream needs to own its own outcomes without pulling your core teams off their roadmap.

How it works →
03 / PROJECT

Project delivery

Baytek owns an agreed scope with defined outcomes, milestones, acceptance criteria, and single-supplier accountability.

Best when scope is fixed and you need one accountable supplier for the outcome, with change control in writing.

FAQ

Six questions every CTO asks on the first call.

Answered here so we can spend that call on your roadmap, not on us.

Q01

Who owns the IP we pay you to build?

OPEN

Ownership of the work product is set out in writing in the engagement contract, agreed before any work starts. Tell us what your legal team requires and we will draft to it — including any carve-out you want for open-source contributions you have authorised.

Q02

What's your security posture?

OPEN

Your code stays in your repositories, on your infrastructure, under your access control, and we do not retain copies. Access revocation is a contractual obligation within the wind-down of every engagement rather than something arranged at the end.

The same principle governs the software we release ourselves: Copilot AI Metrics and Backlog Guard operate with no backend at all, and Agile Analytics for Jira is Forge-native and read-only, so customer data remains within the customer's own tenant. That architecture is documented publicly on both marketplaces.

We complete enterprise security questionnaires within five business days, and where you require assessment against a specific control framework, attach it to your brief and we will respond control by control.

Q03

What if the engineer you place doesn't work out?

OPEN

We replace the engineer at our cost, and we carry the onboarding of the replacement rather than billing it to you as ramp-up time. We will commit to a specific replacement timeframe in your contract once we know the role and the notice you need.

It's rare. When it does happen, the replacement has historically stayed for the duration of the engagement.

Q04

Do you compete with us if we're in a similar product space?

OPEN

We won't take an engagement that competes directly with one of our shipped products — hiring (ResReader), delivery analytics (Agile Analytics for Azure DevOps and Jira, Copilot AI Metrics, Backlog Guard), test management (Testaro), incident communications (Status Portal), or multilingual support messaging (ChatBox123).

Anything else is fair game and we'll tell you up front. We've also signed mutual non-compete clauses inside specific verticals when a client has asked — happy to do the same for you.

Q05

How fast can you actually start?

OPEN

It depends on the role and who is free. An embedded engineer is normally quicker than a dedicated team, because a team means we re-test team chemistry with the lead engineer before you meet the rest of them. We give you a specific start date in the proposal rather than a general estimate here.

Project delivery engagements take a week longer up front to scope properly — that week is included in the proposal price, not billed separately.

Q06

Why should I trust an outside team to actually be "senior"?

OPEN

Don't take our word for it — check it two ways. We list role and years for the team you'd get, with full résumés and references available under NDA. And the products above are public: real listings, public ratings, and a support burden we carry ourselves. That's harder to fake than a CV.

And if "senior" still feels under-defined: you set the bar in the technical interview. We pre-vet, you make the call.

Different question? Send it through the brief form — we answer within 48 hours.

12

ASK

THE QUESTION

What can we hand to Baytek?

Sometimes it's the core product that needs more senior hands. Sometimes it's the important work that keeps losing to it. Either way — that is where we aim to help.
